Letting people know your goals only gives them leverage.
I feel like even the most well meaning, loving or kind person, when they're trying to help you, they're also subconsciously trying to sabotage, manipulate, or take advantage of you.
True altruism is a lie. The self preservation written in our DNA simply won't allow true altruism, unless you happen to be suicidal. (I've been there, there's a reason they say nice guys finish last)
Allow people to help you with non-crucial details of your goals, but keep them on a need to know basis and don't ever let anyone know your true ultimate goals/intentions.
