>>10840101From what I'm reading, it depends. N2O is a source of 1/2 O2, so as follows:
>25N2O + C8H18 -> 8 CO2 + 9H2O + 25N2 (eqn 1)Assumes there's zero oxygen in the tank, which is false. But strictly speaking, this is the combustion of gasoline due to NOS.
>25 O2 + 2C8H18 -> 16 CO2 + 18H2O (eqn 2)Is the combustion of gasoline due to atmospheric O2. It has nothing to do with NOS.
NOS injection is a combination of the two: 21% combustion from air (eqn 2), and 15.6% combustion from NOS (eqn 1)
The pure breakdown of NO would be
>2N2O -> 2N2 + O2 (eqn 3)Which then gets fed into eqn 2. The massive production of N2 gas also creates an explosive force, from gas pressure alone.
I would offer two choices, either:
>2N2O -> 2N2 + O2>25 O2 + 2C8H18 -> 16 CO2 + 18H2OOr
>25N2O + C8H18 -> 8 CO2 + 9H2O + 25N2See if he wants the simplified or the detailed equation.
Make sure you get your subscripts right.
