And it got me thinking... can we talk for a moment about unified physics without all the Academia-ese? Just simple words?

What would a unified theory of everything look like? What if we just try and think of the simplest equation that would look like our reality on a 4d "spacetime" grid? ripples, field lines, dot like particles that attract and repel... Has anyone done any work on this? What is the simplest equation that could reproduce this?
