When we talk abouth material hardess, how does it apply to actual "scrath", it's like a X scratch Y and nothing more or X scrath Y more but Y also scratch X.
Example:
I have 2 object, same shape different material, X is hard 3, Y 7.
If i use Y to scrath X i expect it to work, because Y it's harder than X, my question is: Does Y also get "scratched" by X in the same time?
If no, how does hardness works for similar materials? Let's say 5.0 and 5.1
Is correct to say that X got scratched by a factor of X/Y and Y by a factor of Y/X?
