I feel like it takes longer to draw all those lines and count the intersections (That's what you do for that method right?)
Mathematically it looks about the same as traditional long division too.
Personally I can't draw lines that straight either so I could see messing that up pretty easily.
Reminds me of that lattice method they taught us in elementary school that everyone else loved but I always hated, seemed like it brought up more chances for errors.
