Hey, guys. I'm not a math major.
Just taking my finals this week, and reviewing my previous chapters. I've been up all night, every day, for a month. Right now I'm struggling with graphing lines, given their equation in slope-intercept forms. Something's got to give. Usually when I can't figure out a formula, somebody explains it to me in a way that instantly clicks. I haven't gotten that eureka moment yet — math isn't my strong suit. I've been bad at it my entire life, but this class has given me more headway than ever. I'm even starting to enjoy it, when it makes sense.
Let's look at an example.

What I'd do with this is assign a number to "x" (e.g. 1), and then use it to figure out the identity of "y".
>If x=1, then -1+3=y.
>If -1+3=y, then y=2.
So a single point on the graph would be "-1 and 2".
Right? I'm not sure if that's wrong.
And then I don't know how to figure out the other point on the graph.
