Laypeople don't fucking understand basic classical mechanics, and we're trying to explain something like gauge invariance to them? I feel like it's just all in vain. How much of this information is even retained by the average viewer, let alone understood/digested?
And then of course there's the cardinal sin of trying to explain physics, especially this kind of physics, with minimal use of math. Sure it can be done, but it's also the reason why every description that a popsci fan trying to regurgitate what he watched last night ends up saying something riddled with inconsistencies, or the idea is just horribly misconstrued.
