Imagine if you had to be led by someone with a room temperature IQ. Even as an average person, you'd pretty quickly become frustrated by their perceived (and likely real) incompetence.
Additionally, factors like GPA aren't correlated to IQ; a significant portion of higher IQ individuals are actually more likely to have a significantly lower than average GPA or simply drop out before reaching higher education.
