>>10828873I honestly thought calculus was hard back in high school, I did manage to pass it, then went to uni to study cs and dropped out in first year, mainly because while I did good at programming, there were other compulsary courses that I had to take and pass and honestly math was one of them I couldnt be bothered and it wasnt easy. I freelanced for a while then managed to get a job at some company, went in there with 0 formal qualification, first year got paid lowest wage possible, less then even freelancing, but I was a good programmer and got a slight payrise, I am at the different better paid company now, I lied on my cv about my qualifications and degree but work experience is real.
Thing is I am now rediscovering maths and I find it very interesting,maybe I am now smarter and capable of understanding it better but its so much easier, not sure why, I suspect that the material and teaching methods of teachers and professors at uni and high school were quite shit, I remember given a ton of highly compacted dense blobs of information, unable to process any of it, these days I just look up a subject on google then just follow links to wiki and various math sites and fuck, its explained so much better than in my old textbooks. These are better resources and probably even middle schoolers could learn advanced math easily studying from these.
Same with physics, I always liked physics but when we starter doing electric stuff I started to hate it, I realize now that even basic stuff like voltage, resistance, energy, work, etc werent fucking properly explained, again huge blobs of fucking dense compacted information that just meant nothing to me, no foundation means everything after that was unclear and made me hate it.
I always thought I am a brainlet (maybe I still am compared to high iq people) but it appear I am quite capable of learning new stuff, its just the matter of finding the right study material for me.
