is there a reason why people buy chemicals from Sigma Aldrich when there are cheaper options from other vendors (i.e. Fisher, Acros, Alfa)?

Is it the same phenomenon as the Apple products fanaticism? There's a lab down the hall that only purchases sigma chemicals when we purchase the same reagent for $30 dollars less, and no, theres not even a SureSeal on it
