Do human beings have an innate desire to have children and start a family, beyond our sexual desire?
That is to say if you remove the link between sex and reproduction (using contraception) and render it a logical decision, is the desire to have children anymore than a lifestyle aspiration, or is it linked to something more primitive in our brains?
