The new edition sells for 128 € in pre order. That would be fucking $140.

The old edition costs same as always: 91 € and is out of stock. You can find it for as low as 85. Hell, even the kindle ed costs 75 €. Those were pretty much the normal prices bf the new ed came out.

Then there is the indian low quality edition that costs 38 €.

The Python version is also written by a woman with no affiliation with the original authors, and it is also missing much of the material than the original SICP.

If you're going to read SICP then read SICP, the "SICP for language X" can't even pretend to be substititutes.

no shit? its telling that the only other books discussed here are "algorithms in C" rather than a real algorithm analysis book, and fucking SICP. this entire thread including yourself is a bunch of insecure retards who have to hate on clrs to either be contrarian or because they got filtered. clrs is a perfectly fine book, it does what the title says and it is actually not entirely trivial and will teach you a heck of a lot. sure you will encounter more nuanced algorithms and more difficult analyses in other more specialized books, but as an intro to the whole field, CLRS is pretty good.

I'm not hating on CLRS, but it's not the type of book I or anybody else, like OP i suggesting, should wait with bated breath for the next edition. It's simply another iteration after a decade of a book that came out in 1989..
What I'm confused about is that OP is suggest we all pre-order this new copy to a standard undergrad reference because...why exactly? Literally just download 3rd ed for free or 4th ed when it hits libgen

Is Sedgewick's introductory book better than CLRS? I've read some reviews pointing that it has less content. But actually, I hate bloated bricks. I'm looking for a reference book to sit in my shelf, I already know the basics.
