>>14317286Adhd and major depression that, although being seperate operating mental disorders, can work together as if they fit like two matching puzzle pieces. In combination this is a lot more difficult to treat because patients unusually are hard to cooperate with, especially longterm, or even show no sign to change their life to begin with. They are just a bit difficult patients in general.
As for your rumination being adhd driven or not, you can test it with an easy method: When your mind wants to ruminate, lie straight down on your bed or couch face up towards the cieling. Preferably in a quiet room with computer and tv shut off. Close your eyes, relax and try to ruminate a topic through no matter how irrelevant it might be, try reaching to "the end" to where you find your answers. Here, patients usually stop after 1h - 1h 30min completely exhausted. (If you had to stop the practise before reaching to at least an hour, it is a likely indicator for adhd) Now after you are done, write down all the answers you came up with during the session.
If your mind feels freeing and a sense of easement, the rumination is most likely depression caused.
If you went through all of it, and you found no answers or feel worse than before, as in feeling you wasted all your time, it is most a very likely indication for both, adhd and depression.
As for your boredom, depression works in combination with dopamine, which always works in combination with blood pressure, which is why anti-depressants are so effective. It is virtually impossible treat depression through more dopamine if you don't manage the deplition beforehand. That will lead nowhere and won't treat your conditions. The goal is to reset the dopamine deplition in first place, with for example regular long walks outside.
