This. These people never last in science because it also requires comprehension and verbal reasoning at the level of something like a history or philosophy freshman. Without being able to operate as an average humanities student you'll never be anything more than the 21st century equivalent of a 20th century factory-line worker copying an instruction manual.

It isn't that surprising - all the best mathematics students at Cambridge etc also get A*'s and so on in English literature and those kinds of subjects.

Actually, I was at a Körner lecture and he basically hinted at the students broadly strong (A*/A) across the sciences and humanities being better at mathematics than the ones with C's in humanities and 100's in sciences.

Yes only all of the mathematics and physics that has ever come out of the UK has come from almost exclusively alumni of those 2 universities, and a tiny amount from Edinburgh and UCL, and nowhere else.

Yes, the ones that don't just become bankers or something because they can easily get such positions as they went to oxbridge. It's not very much different from freemasonry in that regard.
