I suspect it is housed in something though, what the Bible calls the firmament, because they die and new ones are created just like any other cellular function. Each one it's own Universe int eh multiverse. The vedics and greeks called it the cosmic egg, I imagine they mean an unfertilized egg not a chicken egg or w/e. So in that sense we are in some kind of cosmic embryonic fluid. We could be in the womb of some elemental titan for all we know. The word matrix means womb in latin in fact.
