I have written papers where the whole project from the top level of finding a good problem, coming up with a new idea, and doing all the technical calculations were done by me, only to put my (semi-famous) advisor's name on the paper at the end, who everyone else assumes is the real author. I have tried to give good problems I don't have time for to grad students or less creative postdocs to outsource my ideas, but I have had mixed success with that. I've maybe only met a couple coauthors that I feel earned their name on the paper. It's a political game to find those good people, manage the parasites that can possibly get you a job, and deal with the lazy peons you want to put in time on your own ideas because they aren't as good
