When I have dreams, the characters SEEM perfectly capable of doing this and that and the observer can even have conversations with others in his dreams. He can even have sex with women in his dreams. But these other characters are virtual simulated NPCs that the observer's subconsciousness renders to the dreamer. And so, being that the observer's consciousness can render simulated characters and consciousnesses to the observer in dreams, there seems to be no reason this couldn't happen in the waking reality as well. There is no way to really KNOW. But of course I operate daily, generally, assuming those who appear in my consciousness are real other minds and I also appear in their minds rendered to them by their consciousness. So I am talking about what can STRICTLY be justified, not just about what can be assumed for convenience.

Not with regards to some definitions of consciousness. He is not fully aware or sentient. He is still 'a consciousness' in the noun sense and still potentially receiving a dream reality rendered to him by the autonomous aspect of the consciousness called the 'unconsciousness'.
