I think we tried to make transmissible pan-coronavirus disease, that would innoculate bats from potential sars-pandemic causing strains.

Gain of function was used to determine which species may be more like jump, but using mice with human lung tissue.

I'm still unsure whether it's intentional or just another "Hold my beer" mistake of silicone valley bravado. Honestly, the latter seems far more realistic.

The mRNA vaccines are a legitimate attempt at control. Merck and pharma pushed anti-vax narrative to boost drug sales and get molnupiravir pushed through FDA.
Now, maybe dazsack is meta-gaming and /counting/ on these types of failures; but i don't think it's as simple as "designed as a bioweapon"; that's a strawman.
