At least retards have the good sense to yield to the big brains when it counts, or at least dedicate themselves to effectively becoming smarter, because they know that smol brain decisions are going to cause people problems. Too many midwits think they're hot shit. They get told growing up that "their opinion matters" by their midwit parents, and so they make the mistakes of being less rigorous, and failing to self improve, and failing to leave decision making to someone who's actually thought about the issue at hand.
In effect, it's a culture problem. What kills me is the powers that be actually tolerate it, cuz muh democratic tradition and respecting peoples' opinions, or whatever your local equivalent is. I suspect tough-love would help the midwits live out their best lives, both at the individual and collective levels.
