>>13733137You are awfully cruel for some one who studied one of the the humanities majors.
Which was it exactly? Certainly not ethics, philosophy, history, or, well heck I can’t think of a single one that would lend itself to such an aggressive and stigmatized stance against people who you don’t know, lumping them into groups, demeaning and dehumanizing them. At least not without recognizing that its historically something the bad guys tend to do. I mean you can have an opinion on something without becoming so vulgar. I’m sure your a better person then that, in fact that’s probably why your discussing this so passionately in the first place, it seems you believe your doing the right thing and you want others to do the same. However your not acknowledging that the people you are talking to might also believe what they’re saying is right and want others to do the same. Most people don’t want to be the bad guy, they just want to survive. I understand it’s easy to get angry at someone you feel is threatening that survival, it’s natural. Still, what separates mankind from animals is the ability to weigh immediate and existential threats and think rationally before lashing out, thereby allowing for further discussion, a deeper understanding of ourselves and others, as well as if not always agreement at least a mutual respect. These are the foundation of civilized society.
