A lot of the jobs people are forced to work these days are either completely useless, or could be automated overnight; the truck drivers, burger flippers, accountants, etc.
Capitalism has instilled this philosophy in us that you have to coerce and force people to perform actions that benefit society, people are inherently selfish and only by taking their livelyhood for ransom do they get compelled into action, which couldn't be further from the truth.
Kids are naturally curious, they naturall want to learn, they want to socialize and be with other kids. It's when you force them to sit on a bench for 7 hours a day listening to some old fart talk that they start to despise it. You need to make learning engaging, not just rote memorization. If you allow kids to explore, they will learn themselves. This has been empirically shown time and time again, homeschooled children learn a lot more than their peers in public school.
