there's already been far too many deaths and adverse side effects for the vaccines to be considered "safe and effective". The conditions of continued spread of the virus in a population highly vaccinated against disease severity seem to be the ones we're intent on creating. It doesn't mean the virus has to evolve to be deadlier but there isn't as much stopping it from doing that.

Covid's evolution to evade existing vaccines is only a matter of time. This is a preprint but it shows existing mutations of Delta that, if they were combined together, could break through the vaccines.
