There is no reason to believe there is more than one consciousness, nobody has ever directly experienced more than one field of awareness. All sense perceptions, involving completely different areas of the brain, appear in that same singular field. Even your two eyes work independently (rather than signals being sent from both to a singular locale where the perception of sight is generated), yet a singular image is seen.
Although the contents of our minds are certainly different and your current field of vision differs from mine, there is no reason to believe that despite evidence of multiple sensed objects, there is more than one singular field observing it all.
