no thats stupid as hell because the video is going to "auto" all the important shit like white balance, exposure, and of course focus
all modern phone cameras have a "professional mode" where you will be able to take 10 second exposures at the correct balance and focus
take a shitload of those, THEN pick the best ones, THEN stack!

good luck taking a 10 second exposure with an untracked telescope, even 3 seconds is going to be an unusable streak with how fast stuff moves across the sky at 200x magnification.

You need more exposure to get more out of nebula and galaxies. Light pollination from suburbs kills that though. You need get out onto the boonies for that.

Thanks to the economic disruptions caused by covid, you don't have a lot of choices right now as they're shortages of astronomy gear.

Ironically, you would probably more choices by looking in the Cloudy Nights website classifies or even Ebay.

Putting aside the shortages, that depends on what you want to do with the telescope. Visual? Astrophotography? Also, your telescope, no matter what you pick, will be useless without a proper mount.

The impact in your video leaves no atmospheric "scarring" and appears to be on the same scale as Shoemaker-Levy 9. If it's real, I'm surprise it left so little impact in the aftermath.

My initial guess was multiple Photoshopped "impacts", but according to your link, it was a single 100-meter asteroid for one of those impacts. So, it's probably several pieces of a larger asteroid.

Same here, night sky is great.
However I once had to walk through an area close to Bortle 1 once, I'd rather not do that again. I still don't know how I could see the road.

What telescope are you using?
Like the aperture etc.
I can't fix a camera on my telescope sadly, and nebulas at best look like smudgy stars.

Anyway, Saturn is easily seen on the night sky. If you cannot see it with your eyes you are unlikely to see it with a telescope.

saturn and jupiter are so bright you can see them easily, they are the brightest point of light next to the moon right now.

I can see them even through faint clouds and light pollution

you can find it. saturn is usually the smaller, less bright star, diagonal to the really big, bright star you see at night. so if you see a really big, unusually bright star with another less bright star diagonal to it, several nights in a row, you've located the first two gas giants. right about now, try and look close to the moon. be careful though, venus is also really bright so don't mistake it for jupiter.
