>>13451948The clinical trials you are taking about had 30k participants, and are not taking any more applicants. There have been 1.5b doses administered, so no by getting the shot you're not participating in a clinical trial.
The clinical trials that got the vaccines approved were to determine if the vaccine was safe and prevented serious illness from COVID. Those are completed. The ones you are mentioning were to see if it is protective as well, which obviously requires a longer observation period.
And since the EUA allowed vaccinations to start, this clinical trial is almost moot; we're going to have a slew of epidemiological studies in the real world that show exactly how good it is at preventing infection.
