That is, evidence that can't be explained away by
1. psychosomatic symptoms
2. people who test positive for the disease tend to be more paranoid about their health (they are the people who would seek out the test or visit the hospital)

My guess is not, since its hard to control for these things.

Op here, still not decided on if I'm gonna take it or not. My parents are basically demanding that I do but I still really do not want to. back then we didn't know that most of the cases were asymptomatic but still able to infect, so there was no reason to wear a mask if you weren't sick yourself, in which case you should be staying home. Then we realized that *anyone* could be infected without knowing, and therefore making everyone wear a mask is a much better way of limiting the spread

There are people who can't get the vaccine for legitimate medical reasons. There are immunocompromised people.
No vaccine is 100% effective, so it is still in your best interest to not be surrounded by infected plague zombies.
