>>13421128>but apparently they will just fly next to each other.its less hassle that way. if that thing would be attached to their station it would limit the way they could aim their telescope. they would have to install a system which corrects for the shift in center of gravity , and the induced motion when the telescope moves, their gimballing would have a limit as well so close to the station. its better having it drifting next to the station. they can get to it for repairs at any time, they are decoupled from it so they wont induce vibrations from space station systems, or just people bumping into the walls. its actually not a bad idea not to hard mount it.
