Civilization as it is now may certainly collapse, and due to resource availability may never return. But the biosphere will be completely fine, the holocene extinction is pathetic compared to what life has weathered on this planet. Individual ecosystems may dissappear but they will be replaced in short order. Even scouring the surface with cobalt bombs wouldn't kill the life in the oceans and crust (which make up the vast majority of life on this planet). Assuming the planet doesn't get obliterated by a cosmic event like a rogue planet, life will continue to exist until the sun devours the Earth.
