>>13374618those aren't hunter gatherers, those are more advanced societies more similar to petty kingdoms with chieftains, etc. sort of like northern/middle europe during the roman republic. both might look like ooga boogas but there is a lot of difference. actual stone age hunter gatherers are a lot rarer than you think. closely studied ones even rarer. an example of a mostly stone age hunter gatherers are the piraha.
my hypothesis is that violence, psychopathy, individualism only emerge as society grows and becomes more complex, it becomes more beneficial for the individual than collaboration. for example in a band of 100 people you would get kicked out or killed if you hurt the band or act egoistically but in a society you arise to the top when you act egoistically and are machiavellian. look at how chieftains and royal families became what they are, look at billionaires, etc
