>>13365676>>13365704>>13366693Graphic designer here. These convoluted shit color systems only exists because of the bane of our existence known as "printing". Also has to do with how monitors and graphic design software processes color. If I had to nail it down as to which is most accurate where and why it would be
>RYB: This is the physical "grade school paint color system". How physical color mixes with other physical color to make others. Not even this is right because gay shit happens and to compensate for it proffesional artists have to use "warm and cool" versions of the primary colors in order to get them to mix proper.
>RGB:This is "electronic color" or "how light actually works" system. Incoherent light is just "white light containing multiple spectrums". Seperate them out and you obviously will have "RGB".
>CMYK:This is "printer color" or "where the gay ass shit begins and ends in the graphic design world". The ONLY reason why this exists and why these particular colors are used is because of the way printers spray patterns of ink to make other colors. Cyan,Magenta, and Yellow are bright saturated colors that can be mixed together without mudding up the colors trying to be created which is why "red, yellow and blue" aren't used. Also "black" is added because it's cheaper than wasting ink by mixing all the other colors together.
