>>4026571Hard to say without knowing what you like. I can see what someone means with the HxH autism comparison. There is a heavy emphasis on strategically using established tools instead of just punching harder or people pulling things out of their asses. But it's still pretty different. It's more about squad level tactics in what feels like a hybrid between modern paramilitary combat and a virtual esport. Also, the autism doesn't stop at the power system. It pervades basically every aspect of the manga.
Another you might like it, you might not aspect is how it handles its cast. There's a billion characters and almost all of them get at least a little screentime and development. It doesn't totally draw away from the main cast. But writing is sort of zero sum when it comes to overall attention per chapter/volume. So there are spells where the main characters don't get as much focus.
The one major downside is that it's not gay at all. It's not really straight, either. It's the most chaste manga I have ever read. There is a single side character boy (a cute shota in fact) with a crush on the one girl in the main cast. That's it. Everyone else, including the main boys, may as well be monks.
If you do watch it, I'd wait for the remake of the first season that was announced recently. The first season that is currently available was a victim of egregious Toei cost cutting. I don't think it's unwatchably bad. And there are some parts where the badness is amusing. But it's definitely not good. And now that they're remaking it, I don't think it's worth bothering with. The second and third seasons are much better.
