Even back then, but especially now, if a 7th grader was saying they were dating a 4th grader, or if they were hiding it and someone in their class found out, it would eventually make its way to a teacher, and then the school administration, and probably some therapists would be involved, depending on how big of a deal they wanted to make it. The age and maturity gap is way too high.

I could understand if you were talking about both parties being high schoolers, but the gap for and elementary and middle schooler is way too wide.
