i'm actually not from ontario (i'm a wee bit west), but a few years ago i actually would have denied it too. it took me a while to notice my own accent - or maybe it actually got stronger as i got older.
any word that ends with 'out' is a giveaway, really. even just the word 'out' itself. 'are' sounds are also where our accent sticks out (words like car, dart, smart, art, etc).
i'm actually proud of my accent in a weird way. makes me feel unique, somehow.>>3402801
oh, yeah, i know there's a lot of variety in UK accents (and more than just the basic scottish/english/irish/welsh). but i like all of them, even the ones a lot of people seem to think are unappealing or 'ugly.'
