>>3254595It has left me with a feeling of intense sadness and emptiness. His ending wouldn't have been so bad if the writers built up the vampire's "redemption" better.
1. This world's vampire system is fucked up, it's literal slavery. Even if you save them that will still continue.
2. The vampire that Yuliy was traveling with killed his family and mocked him for it. Even if some vampires were sympathetic (Mikhail, Bishop) it doesn't make what the other ones did okay.
3. The way the writers tried to make Tamara sympathetic was a joke. All she did was look scared when she was about to die. I would have thought differently if they acted like they cared about each other but they just don't. And the whole, "You're the nice Yev-sama that is trying to save us, r-right?" He was never once shown to be nice.
I'm very familiar with vampires being not all bad in other stories but you have to show that nuance if you want to make an ending like this. They were very one dimensional which I thought was fine because it allowed the audience to not get caught up in that nuance and just see their actions as cruel, which it was.
Anyway, I could go on but this is already long enough. I'm going to take out my rage over this ending and keep collecting nice pictures and maybe knit a scarf.
