You know the weirdest thing? I don't actually ship any of these pairings. I prefer these kinds of relationships to be platonic. Just two guys who enjoy each other's company, where one's this kid, and the other's this ... slightly older kid. One's in middle school and the other's in junior high. Kid thinks his older friend's cool, and cool to be with, and the older guy thinks the kid's just a hell of a lot of fun. Just a completely platonic friendship between two guys.
Yup, completely platonic - except for how the kid gets these weird dreams he doesn't at all understand where he's watching the shoreline at the beach, then suddenly, his older buddy emerges from the sea in these tiny black cotton swim trunks, gasping for a breath of air, his hair dripping wet. He then turns to look at the kid, flashing a little smile, then the world nearly slows to a halt as the guy runs towards him in soft focus, seawater rushing down his bare chest and legs and all over those tight black swim trunks, sunrays turning the cascading water into liquid diamond as he makes his way to the sunbeaten beach sand ...
... and the kid hasn't a clue whatever it could mean.
That's how I like it. Completely platonic.
