>>3180062Dunno what to tell you. It is intended to have gay overtones, sadly of the kind that corporate people think will appeal to chicks.
It had a lot of potential in terms of plot: Ciel is a boy that makes a deal with a demon to get vengeance. In exchange, said demon will kill him and eat his soul. Simple enough.
Thing is, they sort of form a bond that's supposed to make you question the terms of their contract, making you wonder whether Sebastian just wants to consume or whether he falls for him. But nah, neither of them progresses or changes throughout the show and despite there being a lot of room for plot twists, they usually just go for the most boring possible solution (Sebastian using his demon powers as a deus ex machina).
That aside, there are 2 main problems with it. First would be the difference in age. Ciel is fucking 12, making the whole thing a sad softcore shota flick. Secondly (and maybe i'm biased here), Ciel is such a cunt that most of the time i was just wishing Sebastian killed him already, which ruined the whole conflict for me. You keep expecting him to show some humanity or learn something, but no, it's the same shit over and over until the last moment.
It has its moments though, if you can stomach the idiotic slapstick humour they use as filler.
If you do decide to watch, go for both seasons. The final ending spites the whole show, so you at least get that as closure.
