>>3170692No need to start another flame war in these threads; I get that you already realized your mistake and corrected it, but calm down. Granted, I am mostly on the periphery of the Western Ignis fandom, so I may have not seen some of the responses you're talking about. But I figure some context might be useful.
In fairness, the whole "Ignis is a mom and that's why you can't ship him with anyone other than Gladio" meme has been pushed hard for an entire year to justify some pretty absurd harassment campaigns against anyone who ships him with the two younger 'bros. Primarily Noctis; Promnis is also considered as similarly "incest-coded" to these antis, but it's too off the radar for them to target those shippers with the same level of intensity, especially since much of the hardcore "Mom Ignis" headcanoning is ultimately motivated by shipping wars. Gladnoct had similar problems, although it's largely subsided due to smaller fandom presence and lack of continued focus. It's not worth getting enraged over since Ignis makes it clear he's annoyed, but given what was once a cute fandom joke transformed into an excuse for bullying, I can see why it became a sore spot for some Ignis fans.
Also, some Prompto stan has recently been going around sending extremely vitriolic messages to anyone who seems like an Ignis fans and expresses so much as mild annoyance at that one conversation (and that's what I've usually seen; something as simple as a "Come on..." started an entire thread of anger from them), telling them they support a fat-shaming monster who abuses Prompto and should be deleted from the game, apropos of basically nothing. Which might also explain why Ignis fans are on edge. Because what the fuck.
Something about Episode Ignis just seems to have popped the lid off the uglier side of fandom.
