I'll start with my own shelf. Probably at least half of this came from a recent trip to Japan and winter Comiket. It's mostly a slightly odd mix of Marvel, Star Wars, Hero Academia (Erasermic) and Black Butler (mostly Grell centric stuff, although sadly none of my actual OTP. I would kill for Undertaker/Grell doujinshi but afaik only about two exist and they're rare as fuck).

Cool! I'm pretty picky when it comes to buying doujinshi. The only series I've really gotten into enough to actually buy doujins of is Evangelion. I love the aesthetic of doujinshi during the 90s.

I lost a bunch of doujinshi in a house fire. I'd love to replace them, but they were from the early days of Digimon and some were R-18. I don't see those on EBay anymore. Are there stores that carry stuff that old or that raunchy?

I'm extremely picky when it comes to doujinshi. I only buy the ones that I've read so I don't have that many. Mostly SnK, a couple of Reborn and an OPM one. Picture related is one I really want to find.

I wish they came with a translation page. I'm willing to pay a little more if they had that

I hardly read them, but still simply like collecting them until today. One of my shelves is almost filled up with doujinshi alone. My favoruite one is a doujinshi containign chat noir - even if it's technically not /y/ material, it's adorable as fuck.

No wonder it's blocked, that's a shitty scalper site that just lists stock from other sites and displays a massively inflated price tag on theirs. Just search for it on Surugaya or some other store for used doujin goods and it's guaranteed to be there for like 300 yen. Don't support this garbage.

Speaking of doujins, is there any kind of specific etiquette in Japan about buying stuff off of Mandarake? I always miss out on Comicket events and stuff so I usually just buy secondhand stuff from there. But I don't even know if most artists are okay with me buying their stuff from places like that. I don't want to accidentally offend them if I talk to them on twitter and stuff.

I think most professional scanlators de-spine them. If you want to keep them intact while scanning, the quality will usually suffer a bit. Especially if it's a particularly thick or thin book.

I own about a hundred doujinshi, but it's all I have when it comes to BL stuff, I am super picky for the quality and my favorite characters rarely get the spotlight (I included a JoJo artbook, not BL, but still /cm/ related). I plan on buying Cu Chulain centric books, at least it shouldn't be too hard to find. I'm also tracking a very rare Terra Formars doujinshi that I've never seen on online shopping, I hope I'll find it someday.

Most of the free doujin sites I visit are all in Japanese so you should at least learn some kana if you're desperate. blmagazine has a bunch that mrm or sadpanda doesn't have. bl-archive has some stuff too but it's densely ad-ridden.

mrm and sadpanda's the only option if you only want shit in English.

I don't think there's any way to check the complete catalog of past events, the Comiket website scrubs the old map after it ends iirc. Now, if that can help, I physically own the C86 catalog, you can ask for information if you want.

In that case, you could check the tags of your series on pixiv, since most artists make their doujinshi announcements there (if they haven't relocated to twitter, where it's much harder to find old infos).
