There are and will be no answers to your questions because by their very nature, they cannot make sense or make for a good story. The entirety of 3.33 and indeed, the Kaworu x Shinji fantasy along with Kaworu's character is completely dependent on them not revealing or developing it. If they did the cracks behind the facade would be revealed.
You see, it just so happens that you can't have a well-developed realistic story AND an idealistic shipper fantasy involving a minor character at the same time.
Only now, years later, Kaworu fans are now also becoming "disappointed" in a movie that came out five years ago due to the lack of similar shallow instant gratification. Some make intellectually dishonest excuses for this like

If there is anything such as an honest Kaworu fan, he or she would admit that it is their egotistical and destructive pursuing of their own fandom that made 3.33 bad, and arguably, a lot of the other spinoffs as well. There never was any point to 3.33 except changing fan dynamics. None of you have established any message or theme that isn't simply creating a framework for shipping - which you have all partaken in.
