Perhaps I'm overgeneralizing but I remember a Japanese artist commenting that it's interesting that Western fans will praise artists they like directly, which makes me think it's more common for Eastern fans to just like and reblog art silently while keeping the squealing to their own account, out of earshot of the people whose work they're admiring.
Don't get me wrong, Eastern fans can do just as much squealing, and many of them do reply directly to art posts praising them, but not nearly to the same degree as Westerners.
Whether or not that's a good thing I dunno, because personally I like seeing people comment on my stuff because I find feedback useful. But I can imagine it gets tiring seeing nothing but "OMG I LOVE THIS AHHHHHH" over and over again.
