Thank you very much, anon! This is really interesting. After someone comented on how there weren't really many scrapped scenes at least judging by japanese reactions I was a bit disappointed, but this is good. It's true there aren't really entire scenes and material as much as in storyboards for the earlier movies (most probably the 'juicy' and spoiler-y stuff was in the part that didn't make it to this book) but let's see what we've got.
>>3097047Some people already hit the nail with these being katabami but I also remember some people thought they were yellow daisies. I guess this settles it.
The former definitely makes more sense. Seems to be one of those plants able to grow almost anywhere hence why it can prosperate between the ruins.
With all the subtext that's going around this movie I'm sure the language of flowers have something to say too.
>>3097049That's funny, it seems more like a face Karl would make. I'm glad it didn't make it to the final movie, though. I don't want Homu in my Kawo.
>>3097052Now that kinda helps with the apparent plothole, I think that's more detailed than how it was written in the script. Gives some light onto the scene and how/why Kaworu didn't react and didn't concentrate in what was going on. Now we just need to know what the hell was happening exactly.
I'm a bit pissed off in how badly they delivered this scene. You shouldn't have to look into storyboard/scripts to know these kind of things.
>>3097056That scene begins around 1:16:16. 'On behalf of mankind I thank you' is the closer to it, I think. I have the impression they just decided to deliver a similar line later in the dialogue and that's why that was crossed out.
