>>3084752Losing the foppish hair and getting the pissed off look were great for him imo.
>>3084781>Too bad his morals and ethics never got in the way of stuff...Key word is "had" - S1 Gaelio was objectively one of the nicer and more well-meaning characters in the show. He knows Gjallajorn is fucked up, and wants to change it (just not in MacGillis' cloak and dagger/radical coup fashion). Contempt for AV is true, but it's reasonable since many humans view AV as serious taboo. He definitely has the whole spoiled, self righteous (and somewhat stupid) noble thing going on. Not seeing how he exploited Ein though.
S2 Gaelio is far less naive. He's more mature, pragmatic, and realistic. He's grown enough to know he needs to work with Rustal to meet his own goals, and to know he was wrong about AV/Tekkadan. We don't know if he still cares about Gjallahorn's corruption, as him and MacGillis' beef is his primary motivator. I don't think revenge is a bad goal in his position.
I don't think there's anything wrong with his actions/character being reactionary to MacGillis. He spent most of his life being his lackey/friend, and then got set up to fail spectacularly and destroyed on numerous levels by him. He'll probably get killed off, but it'd be interesting to see what he'd do after hypothetically getting his revenge. I don't think he's particularly loyal to Rustal.
>But that's like par for the course in this show.Yep. There's very little black and white morality in this show, and most people in it are just pursuing their self-interests, and more than a few have had a whole lotta SUFFERING. Gaelio's just ranks up there, and seems to resonate with fans pretty well. Only Gundam-Guts seems to get more sympathy for his shit life.
