Of course everyone can enjoy them and I'm sure they sold but in the personal I just can't do it because of this. I avoid fanfics for the same reason.
Mana is basically a girl having features from Rei and Asuka created to put in the game to add a romance element, same as some others girls that appear in other games and aren't part of the NGE cast.
