I mean, p4 was practically 2 lines of code away from making yosuke romanceable, (his love confession audio is in the files) and had a cannon gay character in fucking 2007, when that was practically unheard of. Even if lgbt issues aren't in the foreground in japan the same way they have been in the west for the past 5 or so years it'd be surprising for them to take a step backwards 7 years on in a global perspective shift.
