The water is an obvious hint towards life and the world before it was cored thanks to third impact. Maybe we'll see Kaworu return to reunite with Shinji in the 4th movie, since this strongly implies that the two of them together really are the only ones who can reset the world.
Overall, more vague parantal Adam & Eve/pregnancy/world-rebirthing symbolism and speculation. Nothing too special. Other then stuff like this, the only genuine and substantial speculation bits we can get now is cryptic crap like this and eva-related shorts/references for the Anime Expo.
