While they don't use healing magic directly, they are almost always tasked with healing and restoring other people and the world as a whole. And the mother protagonists mentioned above essentially are modern, kid paladins.
I would say boys have a pretty strong association with healing. Arguably stronger than girls. They combine the restorative aspects of their youthful vigor and purifying innocence with the strength and will to cure underlying ills.
