It's the same message for NGE and EoE in spirit but Rebuild just goes "look he finally grew up, emotionally too! he's ready for "the real world"! " skipping all the steps NGE and EoE tried to tell you would be there in your search for answers. In Rebuild is just: Defeat the bad guy! Now you are a true adult! Everything is fine in the end! No happiness in a world with Evangelion, create a new world and it's ok!
Love and the connections with others is still the focus in this ending but it just does it in this bastardized way that would fit any regular shonen. You don't even get to see Shinji truly growing up because by the end he knows everything already. This ending leaves so many questions about how things work you have to turn your brain off to truly say "this is what happened at the end"
You don't even know if Shinji woke up in a 28 year old body or he just lived his life stalking everyone else.
The worst thing is that both of those possibilities and implications are equally bad no matter how you look at it
