>>3527177I wouldn't single out religion entirely (since that has more to do with ignorance in people and in leadership, reform after reform) although I will agree with you in abusive upbringings and fear of rape culture makes it harder and harder for males to express their feelings. It can be so difficult for a boy to be himself when he's forced to sit down for hours listening to a woman lecture him about why his ancestors and his masculinity is "wrong." Kids don't walk to schools anymore, barely play outside with friends, consume too much media, etc. It's no wonder there's so much mental illness on display today. And I don't blame them! I blame the puppet strings that allow this to happen to them.
