In the story, Yoichi is the supposedly Quirkless twin brother of All For One. AFO was obsessed with Yoichi, giving him the name “Yoichi” meaning something like “first gift”, forcing a stockpiling Quirk on him and vaulting Yoichi after he fought against AFO’s villainy. Kudou was a rebellion leader who found Yoichi in the vault. Instead of malice, Kudou held out his hand for Yoichi to take and became his hero. They both ended up knowing each other for 2 months. AFO one day saw them running away holding hands, got angry and attacked, killing Yoichi as Kudou watched and teared up. At the time no one seemed aware that Yoichi did have a Quirk which allowed itself to be passed on to other people. It combined with the stockpiling Quirk became One For All. Kudou realized afterwards that he had OFA or “Yoichi” inside him and swore that he would continue his legacy. Kudou finally died to AFO who was crying after hearing the fact that he was the one who actually killed his own brother. Kudou and Yoichi reunited as vestiges and they along with the other vestiges sacrificed themselves and OFA as a whole to defeat Shigaraki Tomura and AFO.
KudoIchi or IchiNi was basically known as the tragic doomed yaoi of the series.
The One For All users were not as popular as other fan favorites. The author Horikoshi admitted that he didn’t put everything he had thought about the OFA users into the manga with Yoichi and Kudou not having that much screen time so porns of them were few. Many people even shipped AFO with Yoichi considering the incestuous vibes he had, especially at the end where he screamed that he had always loved Yoichi and wanted to see his face one last time. Because of this, KudoIchi/IchiNi might not even be the Yoichi ship with the most content.
