What people refer to as "trade" in the west, are individuals that often exude the behavior and characteristics that fit within the bara archetype. It's been here since before you were born, and it's retarded to think that some gay men aren't attracted to the concept of hyper-masculinity. For example, the village people all have professions that you'd find in any bara content. A fit cop, a burly construction worker, a rugged cowboy, a toned military official, or a muscular tribesman, and they've been around since the 70s. Just because weebs in the 2000s were disseminating Takeshi Matsu and Gengoroh Tagame works on the internet, or making Asuma and Chris Redfield worship threads, doesn't mean that "bara" came out of nowhere or is romanticizing homophobia. Some guys just liked seeing fit muscular dudes or burly rugged hairy bastards that could fuck them into submission, they didn't have to act "masculine", just be horny and look the part.
